Stop Hesitating!

Stop Hesitating! Go for it!

As I was watching a college basketball game the other day, fans in a pandemonium over their team coming back from behind to tie the game, it struck me.

We only live to see so many great moments.  The empty barrel, to which we are given the opportunity to fill with experiences, is only available until our last breathe.

I watched as the student body jumped up and down, arms raised, fists pumping, mouths fully agape, vocal chords strained.  They were reacting to an exciting moment, a wonderful experience in their life.

To the person who left this blue and green marble the day before, that thrilling experience will never fit into their barrel.

Life is a wonderful process.  In my book of life there will be things that happen that will amaze and astound me.  Then at some point after I pass, others will come along and potentially do even more.

Some would say that because of that it doesn’t matter what you do.  They would tell you that your impact in the Broadway show that is life is rather minimal.

I believe just the opposite.  I believe what you do is THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS!

We as people put things off far too often.  We put things off for later or tomorrow.  We tell ourselves we’ll get to it next week or when we have more time.

What if there is none of that?

What if the world needs what you’re putting off now?

Something you do today could change someone’s world! Think about that!

In my barrel of great memories Michael Jordan crossed up Bryon Russell, nailed the biggest shot on the biggest stage, held his release and cemented his place as the greatest player ever.  The date was June 14th, 1998.

What if Michael hadn’t put in the effort and the work?  What if he had waited until tomorrow?

I may not have ever got into the game of basketball.  I may never have spent hours teaching myself a game that neither of my parents or any of my family members ever played.  There would be no mevsMJ.com.  That’s just Jordan’s effect on me.

I would bet that every person reading this can think of one or two people they know right now, that is raise your eyebrows good at something.  I would also bet that you know a few people that are AMAZINGLY good at something and you don’t even know it.

The reason you are unaware of their gift(s) is that they are hesitating.  They are putting it off for later.  There will always be time, right?

What about you?  Are you one of those that is hesitating?

The point is we can’t just wait around for others to DO.  We all must use our blessings and DO.

Your action may not have Bob Costas commenting.  It may not be on national television.  That doesn’t mean it won’t have an impact.

Remember, something you do today could change someone’s world.  Stop hesitating!

Injury Update

Last Thursday I finally went to the doctor and saw an specialist at Jewett Orthopedic.  I was extremely nervous about the appointment, but enough time had passed.  I needed to find out what was wrong with me (see injury).

Within a few minutes, I heard a series of words that put a permanent smile on my face, “You have a torn muscle.”  (He actually used more scientific language, but you get the idea.)  This of course was the best case for me and it means that I have no major structural damage and I will HEAL!!! 😀

Tomorrow I begin rehab.  The idea is to go in, through deep tissue massage, and break up the scar tissue that is forming so that I heal correctly.  Doc says it will be painful, but will ensure that I heal properly.  It should also keep me from reinjuring the same muscle down the road.

Super thankful for the news and all of the support!  You guys and gals are the best!
