About Me

by Kenny Eller on August 23, 2010

About Me:

Welcome!  I’m Kenny Eller, a 33 year old dreamer (as of 8/22/2010)!  I’ve wanted to play basketball with Michael Jordan since I was just a kid.

I’m a believer.

I’m an optimist.

I’m a Jordan fan.

I was raised in Central Florida by two hard working, honest, loving parents and led to believe I COULD be anything.

After the basketball bug bit me as a youngster, I would pray at night to be tall.  Making it close to 6’2” when my parents are 5’8” and 5’6”, seems like an answered prayer to me.

I have two amazing puppies (Cooper and Grayson), a superstar brother, two parents who anyone would be blessed to have and a supportive group of family and friends.

me vs. MJ: My Journey to Jordan Camp:

I came up with me vs. MJ in the fall of 2009.

Born from a childhood dream and coupled with grown up ambition, I launched mevsMJ.com on 8/22/10.

My Basketball Background:

My basketball life began the summer after eighth grade.  From that point, through about the age of 22, basketball consumed me.

I played one year of high school basketball (sophomore).

From age 22 through today (33), my focus in life definitely changed, but hoops has always been a part of me.

Basketball has been a part of my life longer than just about anything else.

Other Interests:

Lifelong Miami Dolphins fan.  Miss the Marino to Clayton and Duper days:-)

Running. (never thought I would type that)

Cycling.  (never thought I’d type that either)

Church and He who guides me.

Cooking.  Irooooooon Chefffff!

Making Rap beats for my bro.

Family.  What it’s all about!

Being the best that I can be.

How I pay the bills:

I work in the financial services industry in the field of wealth management.

What can I say. I am retired so I have time to dream about basketball again. It was a part of my life for so many years. My juices kind of got flowing again reading through your articles Kenny. I almost felt like I was at a Nike coaching clinic from years ago. Great job on the articles. I like your writing style.

Thanks for checking the site and articles out Jim! I appreciate it! I also appreciate the positive feedback! I once found such joy in writing, and then when I left TV some years ago, I also left much of the writing behind. It’s nice to dust it off and get back into it.

As far as the basketball goes, it’s never to late to pick up the ball and start playing again:-) You should come out and shoot sometime with us!

Kenny,
Glad I finally found your site. When you were younger I always enjoyed watching you and Bob (Bobby) play ball. You were a great big brother and mentor, not to mention a great ball player. Good luck on following your dream! By the way, you’re still a great ball player. You didn’t notice, but you were first pick on Tuesday night. Good Luck!
