What you did at the hospital the other day took such a small amount of effort on your part, but made such a HUGE difference. There is no doubt it affected their next interaction, but it may still be impacting them now! It may just be something they think about for quite some time.

What else in life offers that ROI with so little invested, keeping in mind that others are the beneficiaries? Not one thing.

While in the hospital during the birth of my daughter, I told every nurse/doctor that did anything for her how much I appreciated their help. I also told them how their positive attitudes made stressful situations easier to deal. All of them would smile and say, “Aww thank you! That was a really nice thing to say!” I could tell they don’t hear it enough. And my words may have positively altered their next interaction. Thanks for the reminder, especially from someone who practices their beliefs!
