Me vs. WNBA Player, 2,118 Free Throws in a Row, and more stuff to make Michael Jordan sweat! :-) (What I’m working on)

by Kenny Eller on March 1, 2011

Enough to make MJ sweat?

The goal, as you know, is for me to get a game of 1-on-1 vs. Michael Jordan.  I know, I know, not a whole lot of hooping going on here lately at mevsMJ.com.  That’s what happens when I get injured and the doc says be patient Kenny!

That doesn’t mean I haven’t been working diligently behind the scenes on some cool and exciting basketball adventures to help me prepare for my 1-on-1 match-up with Jordan!

While I had planned on waiting to share my upcoming plans with you, I changed my mind! :-)

Here is what is UPCOMING!

Me vs. WNBA Player

Before my injury in January, I got confirmation on a 1-on-1 match-up that is beyond cool!  A former WNBA player (to be named later…gotta keep the suspense going!) agreed to play me!  That means as soon as I am recovered I’ll be heading to Dallas, Texas and throwing down with my first former pro player!  Can’t wait!

So many questions, a ton of anticipation and it will all be answered on the court!

2,118 Free Throws in a Row

Rick Rosser made 2,118 free throws in a row!  CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!  It makes my goal of 100 in a row seem minuscule and yet very doable (I always see the bright side).

Rick contacted me a little over a month ago and asked if I’d like to shoot with him.  I of course said YES!!!  So sometime later this month or in April, Rick and I will take over a local rec center or YMCA and burn up the nets!

Rick has also made 72 of 72 in two minutes.  Wowsers!

Impact Basketball Training (Round 2)

As soon as I heal and get back in proper shape, I will book round two of Impact Basketball training hopefully sometime in May.

The last time I went I felt like a newborn when it came to my basketball knowledge, so I can’t wait for round two and to build upon what I learned the first time.

I love getting better!

Me vs. NBA Player(s)

Me vs. NBA!!!  What???!!!???  Why didn’t I mention this earlier???

Well, the shoes are coming out of the box, being laced up and hopefully soon I will get a confirmation on my first 1-on-1 match-up with a current or former NBA player!!!

Thus far I have two current and two former NBA players that all are better than 50/50 to committing to play me.  Stay tuned!!

It’s About To Get Really Exciting!!!

So big things are in the works here as my leg heals up and I prepare to get back on the court and continue my journey to play MJ.

Sorry for being a little vague on some of the details, but I’ll be sure to let you know as soon as I know more!

me vs. MJ…the journey continues!  I’m still working on getting better Mr. Jordan!  I hope you’re ready for me! 😉 (Yes, I see you working hard at Bobcats practice! :-D)

[P.S.:  I do have a couple of other things up my sleeve, but I can’t let MJ in on all the details just yet! ;-)]

Thank you to all of you out there that believe in what I’m doing here and that are helping me along the way!  Means the world to me!  This would not be possible without YOU!

Your optimism is inspiring! Despite an injured leg, you have kept mevsMJ standing tall with positive thoughts, big dreams, and crazy hype! MOST people would have used an injury as a crutch to take some time off. I am impressed with your dedication and proud of your work thus far. Can’t wait to help you along in a few weeks!

Thanks man. Each day, no matter the situation, we are all given an opportunity to be positive and believe. Too many complain about their situation non-stop, instead of focusing on what they can control, their outlook.

Change the mind…change the time. There are happy people and sad people, but only one World. Perspective.
